A Brief History
C.M.C is the most widely used
one among cellulose
derivatives. It is first
introduced in Germany during
World War I. Later, it was
discovered that the use of CMC
in detergents contributed the
cleaning performance. After
World War II, due to
insufficiency of oil acids, the
production and usage of CMC has
been increased every year.
